Pokémon Go is the top trending virtual reality game right now. It has been making news since its release a few weeks ago and for us in education, the game is already promising. Several teachers and educators have already been experimenting with it in educational settings and the results seem to be positive so far. For the uninitiated of you, Pokemon Go is ‘an augmented reality game that you can play through your smart phone. The app uses the coordinates of your GPS to determine your location in the real world and provides you with Pokémon characters to view and catch.Pokémon are out there, and you need to find them. As you walk around a neighbourhood, your smartphone will vibrate when there’s a Pokémon nearby. Take aim and throw a Poké Ball… You’ll have to stay alert, or it might get away!’.
